Brief version: Born 1973. Seventeen years later I went to college and studied computer science. Three years after that I dropped out and went to art school to study graphic design. I graduated a year later, got into a car accident and ended up moving back home with mom.
Back home I landed an entry level job at Artworks Advertising Agency where, after a year, I worked my way up from Production Artist to Production Manager–for the same pay. Quit.
Went to work for a company in Austin, TX doing prepress work. After a year there we parted ways and I switched gears to pursue web design. I went to work for a company called Internet Media Works! where I became the web developer that I am today.
A year and a half later Thyme Online made me an offer I couldn’t refuse: work for them and build websites while living in The Bahamas.
Then I got married and my wife couldn’t legally work in the Bahamas, so, after 2 1/2 years, I came back to Austin, TX. Sold my soul to Dell because I picked a really bad time to come back to the US. I actually gained an appreciation of Dell’s ruthless efficiency and business model. Their metrics they use to judge performance accurately reflect and drive their business goals.
After two years there, some good money, and spending that money on a mortgage that has my wife and I in over our heads, I left Dell at the end of May, 2005 to start my own web development company, Studio Green.
Landed an 800lb gorilla client, Spiceworks, who made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. I’ve been with them for 2 1/2 years now.
